Furthermore, I groaned out loud with the whole wheelie bin banter between Stath and his business rival mate next door. Again, this behaviour was supposed to be amusing but wasn’t. This was based on Stath pushing over a man at the start who wouldn’t agree to rent a place from him. This first episode was called ‘Pushy Boy’. Honestly, I’ve had funnier toothaches it was that bad! There was this scene near the end where he was trying to catch a pigeon for a tenant, and he kept breaking television sets supposedly to much hilarity. Just when you thought this show couldn’t get sillier, it then went up a notch much to my dismay. It was an utterly woeful performance by him it really was. The Alan Partridge wannabe was the main character, Greek-Cypriot letting agent Stath(Jamie Demetriou). Instead, what we got was a bad attempt at somebody trying to be Alan Partridge. It wasn’t even slightly humorous in places. It wasn’t funny and was just really corny throughout. In fact this show was that bad that I am not sure how it ever got commissioned in the first place. ‘Stath Lets Flats’, a new sitcom that aired on Channel 4 recently, firmly belongs in the latter category. With Carole ready to give birth to his child at any moment, Stath tries to get his old job back at his cousin’s barbershop.New sitcoms these days tend to be very hit or miss. In Episode 1, which airs tonight on Channel 4 at 10.15, Michael & Eagle Lettings is in crisis following Julian’s death - they’ve lost their office and no one’s getting paid. Meanwhile his sister, Sophie, and best friend, Al, deal with the fallout of finally declaring their feelings for each other. Series 3 of Stath Lets Flats picks up from the shock ending of series 2, as Stath is faced with rescuing Michael & Eagle and his relationship with Katia, while expecting his first child by Carole. The comedy has a cult following and the brief synopsis is: Jamie Demetriou is ‘Stath’ - an incompetent Greek-Cypriot lettings agent, working in the family business, Michael & Eagle Lettings in North London. Well, Stath Lets Flats has taken it on and it's trophy cabinet would argue it's absolutely nailed it as the multi-BAFTA award-winning show returns tonight for its third series. If you've ever had anything to do with the London rental market you'll have experienced the chaos first hand and will know it's just right for someone to turn it into a comedy series.
